Measuring and monitoring intersectoral factors influencing equity in Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and health

A meeting was held on 6 to 8 May 2014 in Bellagio, Italy, to advance the development of a framework for monitoring intersectoral factors influencing equity-oriented progress towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and health equity outcomes. The term “intersectoral factors” was coined to describe influences on demand for health services and on health equity requiring intersectoral redress, drawing from the fields of social epidemiology, equity, human rights and gender.
