UK and Ireland Collaborative
Background
The UK & Ireland Collaborative was a partnership between the UCL Institute of Health Equity and public health and government bodies in the UK and Ireland:
- NHS Scotland
- Scottish Government
- Public Health England,
- Department of Health, UK
- Public Health Wales,
- Welsh Government,
- Health, Social Care Services and Public Safety in Northern Ireland,
- Institute of Public Health Ireland
- Department of Health, Ireland
Its purpose was to work in collaboration to support and sustain action on the social determinants of health, to improve population health and reduce health inequalities across the UK and Ireland.
Each year the collaboration aimed to focus on a key policy area and host an event on this topic.
In addition to events, the collaboration met to learn from others, to network, and discuss promising opportunities for action.
Past meetings:
Family Adversity: Children, Young People and the Next Generation.
