This programme takes a proactive approach to tackling health inequalities by embedding change across the system: prioritising health equity in decision-making, aligning programmes for work and skills, and operationalising change via ‘Marmot Accelerator’ programmes on the ground.

While work has been ongoing, the official launch event takes place in March 2026 in Dover, coinciding with the publication of the 'Kent Marmot Coastal Region - Data-led Report' by the IHE. This new research begins to unpick the inequalities that exist between coastal and inland communities in Kent. More analysis on a wider range of determinants (in the form of a comprehensive coastal indicator data set) will come later in 2026.
