Marmot Indicators 2017 - Institute of Health Equity Briefing

.pdfMarmot Indicators Briefing 2017 - updated
Summary

On July 17 2017 the Institute held a press conference and presented analysis of the latest data released on the Marmot Indicators in England.

Since the press conference, we have checked the material we presented in our press briefing and identified that while the figures on inequalities in life expectancy within local authorities were based on data for 2012-14, newer data are available on the Fingertips website. We have therefore updated the relevant slides and press briefing, avaialable above.

The revised presentation from the press conference can be found at this link

Finding the data

For each upper tier local authority in England (excluding the City of London and Isles of Scilly) a pdf is available on the PHE fingertips website. These contain a spine chart and a short description of each indicator.

UCL IHE also worked collaboratively in 2015 to produce new health indicators for the NHS  to help reduce preventable A&E admissions arising from social inequality.
