Measuring what matters: A guide for children's centres

.pdfMeasuring What Matters
Summary

In July 2012, the IHE published 'An Equal Start: Improving Outcomes in Children's Centres', commissioned by 4children, which set out the most important outcomes Children’s Centres should be striving for in order to give all children positive early-years experiences.

In this follow up report, also commissioned by 4children, a set of measures are proposed in order to evaluate children's outcomes. This suite of measures has resulted from work conducted by IHE including a review of the academic literature, input from an expert advisory panel, field visits, and consideration of the evidence.
