In April 2024, Medway commissioned the IHE for support in becoming a Marmot Place, establishing the Medway Marmot Place Partnership. A headline ambition of this programme is to halve the gap in healthy life expectancy over the next decade.

 

This new report - Medway Marmot Place Partnership: Together for a fairer, healthier future – recognises the challenge ahead through a presentation of local data across a range of social determinant of health measures. It also draws on feedback from residents and highlights work already underway, including the development of a map of existing relevant services and support.

 

This report also marks the start of a system-wide consultation process, inviting stakeholders across Medway to sensecheck and refine the recommendations in the final chapter, as well as to pledge their commitment to help deliver them.
